Thanks, Christine!

Last week, the Wells' Women enjoyed a wonderful Victorian-themed table, and a delicious salad with breadsticks as we discussed last month's read: George Eliot's Silas Marner

Thanks to Christine
for a wonderful pick, as we unanimously agreed it was worth the hard-work!

While many club-members gave Eliot a valiant and fighting chance...Eliot's dense Victorian style was too much for some! Those who pressed to the end and finished the story had a great conversation about the major themes and plot-driven episodes in the story. All-in-all, it was a fantastic meeting!

Our newest book is Gram's pick: Erica Bauermeister's The School of Essential Ingredients.

Having begun the book a few days ago, I'm already adoring the writing style (definitely NOT Eliot...) and the story itself is setting-up nicely. We're set for a gentle, sweet meeting with this book in our hands!

I found my copy at Borders for $15, but other bookstores (as well as online sellers) might have a better price. The local libraries should carry it as well! So get a copy, and we'll see you in a few weeks!

Success!

Our first book, And Then There Were None, seemed to be a success among our readers.

We had a great first meeting with wonderful conversation and discussion.

Be sure to have George Eliot's Silas Marner completed by July 16 for our next club!
